Privacy Policy — Video Puzzles
App pl.genso.videopuzzles · Last updated: August 14, 2026
Video Puzzles is a jigsaw puzzle game where the player assembles pieces that reveal a moving video underneath. The app does not require an account and has no backend server of its own — below we describe exactly what data is processed and why.
Data controller
The app is developed by an independent developer. For any privacy-related questions, contact jarek.niewrzal@gmail.com.
Data stored only locally on the device
Game progress, the history of completed boards, settings (e.g. sound, selected theme) and saved-game information are stored locally on the phone and are never sent to any external server — the app has no backend that could receive them.
Player's own video
If the player picks their own video file from the phone to use as a board, the app accesses it only through Android's system file picker (Storage Access Framework). The video file stays on the player's device — the app never copies it or transmits it anywhere outside the game itself.
Analytics & crash reporting (Firebase)
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to diagnose crashes. This involves collecting app usage events (e.g. starting or finishing a level, resuming a saved game, sharing a board), device and app identifiers, and — in the event of a crash — technical diagnostic data such as device model, OS version and a stack trace. This data is processed by Google in aggregate/statistical form and is governed by Google's privacy policy. It is used solely to improve the app and is not used to build an advertising profile of the player.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The app shows rewarded video ads — always started by the player, never automatically. Ads are served through Google AdMob, which may collect the device's advertising identifier and other data needed to select and measure ads, in accordance with Google's privacy policy. The player can limit ad personalization in their Google account or phone settings.
Purchases & subscriptions (Google Play Billing)
In-app purchases (one-time unlocks and the subscription) are handled exclusively through Google Play Billing. Payment data (e.g. card numbers) never reaches the app or its developer — it is handled entirely by Google under its own privacy policy.
Third parties
- Google Play services / Google Play Billing / Google AdMob / Firebase Analytics / Firebase Crashlytics — distribution, payments, ads, usage analytics and crash reporting.
The app does not use any other external analytics or advertising services beyond those listed above.
Player rights
Since the app has no accounts and stores no data on a server, all local data can be removed by clearing the app's data in the phone's settings or by uninstalling it. For data processed by Google (analytics, crash reporting, ads, payments), the player's rights are exercised directly with Google, under Google's privacy policy.
Children
The app is not specifically directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
This page may be updated as the app evolves (e.g. when new features are added). The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
